Kansas State’s 2025 basketball recruit Andrej Kostic officially said goodbye to his Serbian club Crvena Zvezda on Wednesday, confirming his journey to the United States and the Wildcats.

The club’s social media announcement marked his departure, officially closing the book on his professional path in Belgrade and signaling the start of a new chapter in Manhattan, Kansas.

Kostic, a 6‑foot‑6 combo guard born in November 2006, arrives at Kansas State as one of Europe’s top young prospects. He averaged 16.4 points per game with Dynamic in Serbia’s top league and helped lead Serbia to a strong showing at the U19 World Cup. His performance at the Eurocamp in Treviso earned him All-Tournament honors, reinforcing the Wildcats’ belief in his upside.

The departure marks the third notable exit from Crvena Zvezda this summer, underscoring both Kostic’s decision to seek new challenges and the club’s ongoing roster overhaul. Kansas State fans have watched closely since Kostic’s commitment in April, boosted by the news that he signed a significant NIL deal with the program.

K-State head coach Jerome Tang and staff have praised the youngster’s blend of size, talent, and European pedigree. On the court, Kostic has already made waves, sparking major comebacks for Serbia’s national team and showing a combination of scoring, vision, and poise.

His official farewell graphic on social media is more than a gesture. It symbolizes a shift in trajectory from professional hoops in Europe to NCAA competition. As he prepares for summer training and full classroom integration, all eyes in Manhattan will be on how quickly his game translates.

Kansas State’s fan base knows this: when you land a Euro prospect with Kostic’s skill and background, you’re not filling a spot. You’re planting a flag.
