Lazio can avoid making a significant loss on forward Vedat Muriqi should they loan him out this January.

As reported by Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 27-year-old Kosovan forward has failed to settle in Rome and is keen for a return to Turkish side Fenerbahce. A loan deal in January may be a suitable outcome for all parties.

Muriqi Tells Fenerbahce Coach Pereira He Wants to Leave Lazio, Turkish Media Claim

Lazio could let Muriqi leave for Fenerbahce on a loan deal with a buy option attached in the January transfer window, whilst still waiting for the investment made in the summer of 2020 to be totally amortised.

Lazio May Look to Sign River Plate’s Angileri in Upcoming Transfer Windows

This would allow them to avoid making a significant loss, although it would force them into a position where another forward would have to be signed.

With Ecuadorian striker Felipe Caicedo joining Genoa in the summer transfer window, Muriqi is the only true forward that can provide backup for Ciro Immobile. If Muriqi leaves then Lazio will have to find another backup for the 31-year-old Italian.
