The NASCAR schedule is heading to Amazon’s Prime Video in a couple of weeks, and there is good news on the business side of things. It turns out, advertisers are very interested in the Cup Series on the streaming platform.

According to Sports Business Journal‘s Adam Stern, Amazon has “nearly sold out” of advertising for not just one race, but all five races on the upcoming schedule. On top of that, there is good news for fans. This doesn’t necessarily mean we will be watching a ton of commercials.

Prime Video’s Head of U.S. Video & Live Sports Sales, Danielle Carney, also mentioned a new way of showing commercials. Stern describes it as a “two-box commercial format that will run throughout races.” Sounds like their own version of side-by-side commercials and racing.

If you have watched NFL Thursday Night Football on Prime Video, you can expect commercials to be similar to that product overall. It will be a new look and feel for NASCAR fans on Prime Video.

There has been some great advertising from Prime lately. The Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Steve Letarte commercial, riding around from track to track and previewing the upcoming schedule – that’s awesome! The upcoming Earnhardt docuseries will also release on Memorial Day Weekend.

NASCAR is in demand, folks. Having it available on Prime Video is only going to attract new and hopefully, younger audiences. This new TV deal is starting to look really good for the sport overall.

If Prime Video and TNT Sports can do for the Cup Series what The CW has done for the Xfinity Series this year, it will be a major win. Something fresh and exciting for fans to enjoy.

Prime Video will challenge traditional NASCAR partners

When it comes to broadcasts on FOX and NBC, NASCAR fans know what they are getting. Let’s be honest. There is a formula that those two broadcasters use for races and each has pros and cons. But in the last few years, things have felt stale.

This year, The CW has emerged as a great alternative for NASCAR fans to turn to. If you aren’t a regular viewer of the Xfinity Series, giving The CW broadcast a try will be a breath of fresh air. Parker Kligerman, Jamie Mac, and the crew are all fantastic. It just feels more exciting on Saturdays with this new broadcast partner taking over.

One thing that NASCAR fans will love about Prime Video is the fact that Dale Earnhardt Jr. is back in the booth. Fans missed his passion and enthusiasm on race days when NBC decided to not renew his contract last year.

NASCAR on Prime Video, it’s closer than you think. Which race are you most excited to see on the upcoming summer schedule?
