Cricket South Africa (CSA) has appointed Shukri Conrad as the Proteas Men’s all-format head coach.
Conrad, who has led the Test side since January 2023, will now take charge of the white-ball formats, starting with the T20 International tri-series against Zimbabwe and New Zealand in July.
The 58-year-old will also oversee the national team across all formats through to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027, which will be hosted on home soil.
"I'm truly honoured to be entrusted with the responsibility of leading the national team across all three formats. Coaching the Test side has been the greatest privilege of my cricket journey, and to now oversee the white-ball teams as well is something unbelievably special. I'm genuinely excited about the prospects that lie ahead," Conrad said in a CSA statement.
Conrad began coaching in 1999 with Gauteng B and was promoted to coach the senior Gauteng team in 2002, leading them to a Standard Bank Cup win. He became the first coach of the Highveld Lions in 2004, then moved to the Cape Cobras in 2005, winning three domestic titles before being sacked in 2010.
After roles with Cricket South Africa, including head of the National Academy from 2014, he was appointed South Africa’s Test coach in January 2023 and later that year also took charge of the South Africa A team for a Sri Lanka tour.
Cricket South Africa recently named ISDIN, of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, as the official sunscreen provider for both the Proteas Men’s and Women’s teams.
