Touted Playmaker Announces Change of Heart on Ohio State

Ohio State’s wide receiver room may be stacked, but they just took a hit on the recruiting trail. Four-star wide receiver Brayden Robinson from Red Oak, Texas, announced on Saturday that he will no longer be taking his official visit to Columbus. The news comes just weeks after the Buckeyes landed top talents Kayden Dixon-Wyatt and Chris Henry Jr. in their 2026 class.

Robinson, who had Ohio State in his top four back in March, shared his decision on X, writing:

"I will NOT be taking my official visit to Ohio State #TrustTheProcess."

The speedy 5-foot-8 playmaker had been scheduled to visit Ohio State on the weekend of June 13, but now he’ll be focusing elsewhere. Arizona Wildcats (May 30), Miami Hurricanes(June 6), and Notre Dame Fighting Iriish (June 20) are still set to host him.

Despite his change of plans, Robinson didn’t throw shade at the Buckeyes. In fact, he had high praise for the program earlier this year.

“Having the opportunity to play for Coach Hartline and Coach Day speaks for itself. The production at the receiver position is one of one,” he said per On3's Hunter Shelton. But clearly, something shifted.

Right now, Notre Dame appears to be gaining the most traction.

"I find it hard to not thrive in Coach Denbrock’s offense with his creativity and having Coach Freeman and Coach Brown constantly letting me know I’m a top priority at such a prestigious school is a blessing and a degree from Notre Dame is up there competing with the Ivy league schools," Robinson said about Notre Dame.

As a junior, Robinson lit up defenses with 79 catches, 1,408 yards, and 15 touchdowns. He’s currently ranked No. 336 overall and No. 51 among wide receivers in the 2026 cycle. While the Buckeyes are moving forward with a strong WR class, Robinson’s exit from their visit list is definitely one to watch.
