What are Alabama football’s chances to make playoff if SMU loses

Alabama football will be an absolute lock for the College Football Playoff if SMU defeats Clemson. 

The AllState Playoff Predictor feels the Crimson Tide’s chances jump all the way to 99 percent if the Tigers lose. But what if Clemson win and get into the Playoff?

Alabama would then be compared to SMU, who does not have many great wins and would have lost two games. But they would have made it to their conference’s championship game.

The playoff predictor gives Alabama a 72 percent chance to make it into the 12-team field if the Mustangs are defeated. 

SMU and Clemson will clash in the ACC title game Saturday with kickoff set for 7 p.m. CST.
