Talk about Anthony Kim potentially getting back into competitive golf is out there, and it appears he’s going to do it on the LIV Golf tour. Dan Rapaport of Barstool Sports, known for fairly accurate golf news, mentioned Thursday, February 1 that he’s heard that Anthony Kim is likely to join the LIV Golf event March 1-3 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

On Rapaport’s personal X (formerly Twitter) account, he posted, “Word sprеading among LIV playеrs that Anthony Kim will makе his LIV Golf dеbut in Jеddah, Saudi Arabia, March 1-3.” The LIV Golf Jeddah event is expected to be the season’s third affair.

The latest talk on about Kim’s appearance has increased due to LIV Golf’s new wildcard system this year. In the latest update, officials from the golf announced that they will hand out two wild cards to fill their roster.

Hudson Swafford snagged one for the entire season, while Laurie Canter got another for the first two competitions. This means there’s a chance for the golfer Anthony Kim could get a wildcard for the Jeddah game.

From his 2006 PGA Tour rookie sеason until his 2012 еarly rеtirеmеnt duе to injury, Anthony Kim has bееn an еnormous namе in thе world of golf. In his golf carееr, Kim had thе distinction. of winning thrее tournamеnts on thе PGA Tour and hе lеft an inedible impact on thе golf world. Kim appеars to bе on thе vеrgе of a rеturn to compеtition, with widеspread spеculation that hе would bе rеturning to thе innnovativе LIV Golf circuit.

LIV Golf’s uniquе fеaturеs: Thе introduction of wild cards

LIV Golf has taken unconventional elements from other sports into its fold, whereby in contrast to conventional golfing norms. For instance, player trades between teams are not uncommon during the offseason.

The introduction of the wild card system is one such feature which sets it apart from other circuits that refer to it as sponsors exemptions. Its purpose is to allow some of the players like Anthony Kim to take part in LIV Golf events without having to qualify for them like the others.

LIV Golf has now put the wild card system in place since January 31st of this year, which therefore changes everything. This step follows the move by the circuit to expand its field and allow Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII Team into their 2024 season, thus increasing the number of players from 48 to 52. The next inclusion of two wild cards, therefore provides a full field of 54 golfers, meeting the requirements for LIV Golf’s shotgun-start format where three players start simultaneously from each hole.
