Brooks Koepka leaves PGA Tour to join LIV Golf

Yet another notable name is leaving the PGA Tour to join the new LIV Golf series.

Koepka joins the likes of Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, Rickie Fowler and others to recently make the switch. The league is funded by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund.

Here's what Koepka — a four-time major winner — said regarding the LIV Golf series one week ago.

The 32-year-old is ranked 19th in the Official World Golf Ranking and will compete in the first LIV Golf event in the United States, at Pumpkin Ridge in Portland, Ore., starting June 30. According to ESPN's Mark Schlabach, LIV Golf has now signed eight of the top 50 players in the world.

Two weeks ago, the PGA Tour suspended 17 players, including Johnson and Mickelson.
