LIV golfer Dustin Johnson denies making a pointed remark about PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan.

"We don't give a damn how he feels. We know how he feels about us, so it's mutual," the Australian Associated Press quoted Johnson as saying on Sunday.

On Monday, Johnson's representative called that an "erroneous quote."

"I spoke with Dustin from Singapore this morning at which time he emphatically denied making any such statement. He elaborated by saying his actual response to the question was 'no comment,' but mentioned that others interviewed may have answered differently," Hambric Sports CEO David Winkle wrote in an email sent to more than 20 media outlets.

"Dustin remains grateful for his time on the PGA Tour and has the utmost respect for Commissioner Monahan."

Johnson's 4 Aces won the team portion of the LIV Golf Adelaide event on Sunday in Australia.

Johnson, 38, resigned his PGA Tour membership last June to join the breakaway tour. He won 24 times on the PGA Tour and earned major titles at the 2016 U.S. Open and 2020 Masters.
