Henrik Stenson out of LIV Golf Invitational Boston due to 'medical reasons'

The LIV Golf Invitational Boston runs Friday to Sunday, but recent PGA Tour-defect Henrik Stenson won't be hitting the links with the rest of the competition.

It was reported in July that Stenson would be jumping ship from the PGA Tour to the controversial breakaway league. In the aftermath of his decision, the 46-year-old was stripped of his captaincy for the Ryder Cup European team.

The Open Championship victor in 2016, Stenson recorded six career PGA Tour victories before moving to the LIV Golf Series. His most recent first-place finish on the tour came at the 2017 Wyndham Championship.
