LIV Golf's Phil Mickelson 'didn't say a word' at Masters Champions Dinner

LIV Golf defector Phil Mickelson attended the Masters Champions Dinner on Tuesday evening, but according to 1979 winner Fuzzy Zoeller, the lefty didn't utter a word all night.

Per a report from Doug Stutsman of the August Chronicle, the ongoing PGA Tour-LIV Golf feud "was not mentioned" during the annual event.

"We’re just 33 past champions in a room, all trying to get along," Zoeller said, according to Stutsman's report. "Nobody said a word about it. Phil sat near the end of the table and kept to himself. He didn’t speak at all."

1973 Masters champion Tommy Aaron -- who is now 86 years old -- added that he "wished (Mickelson) good luck, but I couldn’t believe how quiet he was. Phil took a very low profile. He didn’t say a word."

Mickelson is arguably the highest-profile golfer who has bolted the PGA Tour for the controversial Saudi-backed league. Bubba Watson, Charl Schwartzel, Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed and Sergio Garcia were the other members of LIV Golf to attend Tuesday's meal, hosted by 2022 Masters victor Scottie Scheffler.

Watson -- who won the green jacket in 2012 and 2014 -- quipped in late January that he'd be willing to "sit outside and just stare in the window" at the dinner if he had to. Fortunately, the 44-year-old was allowed inside.

Round one of the Masters begins on Thursday morning, with the final round scheduled for Sunday.
