PGA Tour golfers wear red in honor of Tiger Woods at WGC-Workday Championship
Golf star Tiger Woods wasn't able to hit the links on Sunday for the WGC-Workday Championship. However, he was there in spirit.
Several players showed up to the final round of the championship wearing a red shirt and black pants in honor of Woods, who suffered serious leg injuries in a rollover car crash on Tuesday.
Woods has traditionally worn red and black since the early days of his professional career.
Rory McIlroy, Jason Day, Tommy Fleetwood, Cameron Champ, Sebastian Munoz, Patrick Reed, Jon Rahm and Justin Thomas were among the golfers to wear red on Sunday.
Day, Bryson DeChambeau and Matt Kuchar also used a Bridgestone golf ball with "Tiger" stamped on the side.
Woods underwent surgery at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center earlier this week and had a rod, pins and screws inserted into his leg after the accident. He was transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for continuing orthopedic care on Wednesday.
According to a doctor and injury analyst for Fox Sports, Woods is expected to be rehabilitating for eight-to-12 months.
