Were fans at the Waste Management Phoenix Open taunting Rickie Fowler with chants of “Team Alexis” on Saturday? It sure seems that was the case.

When Fowler stepped to tee off on the 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale Saturday, he was met with chants of “Team Alexis" from the rowdy fans. Alexis is almost certainly a reference to model Alexis Randock, whom Fowler began dating in 2014.

Though nothing was said publicly, all signs point to them having split up. Any reference to Randock was removed from Fowler’s Instagram profile. Her last appearance on his Instagram profile was 28 weeks ago. Prior to that, she appeared in nearly every other one of his photos. Randock also made her social media profiles private even though they previously were public.

Why would the fans in Scottsdale be “Team Alexis” as opposed to “Team Rickie”? For starters, maybe they just felt like teasing him. But another element is that Alexis Randock went to Arizona State, so they might just be supporting the local girl.

The chants didn't seem to bother Fowler, who was having a superb tournament through the first three days.
