Scottie Scheffler's caddie has banked more money this season than Rory McIlroy

Scottie Scheffler is on a dominant run of golf that's resulted in four wins and $18,693,235 in on-course earnings this season, but he isn't the only one cashing in on his stellar play. His caddie, Ted Scott, is also raking in a ton of cash in 2024.

According to Kyle Porter of CBS Sports, Scott has already banked more than $1.78 million in bonuses alone this season. That's also assuming a 5-7-10 payout structure between player and caddie (5 percent for a made cut, 7 percent for a top-10 finish, 10 percent for a win). We know Scheffler is an altruistic person who doesn't play golf for the money, so Scott's on-course earnings are likely even higher than that.

For reference, Rory McIlroy, who has only one top-10 finish in eight starts this season, has banked just $1.71 million in on-course earnings.

This is just another way to frame Scheffler's dominance on the PGA Tour in 2024. The World No. 1, coming off an emotional victory at The Masters, showed up to the RBC Heritage in Hilton Head a few days later and dusted the field by three shots for his fourth win in five starts. Scheffler has lost to only one player by one shot over that span.

In 10 starts this year, Scheffler has finished outside the top 10 just once. He ranks No. 1 on the PGA Tour in strokes gained from off the tee, strokes gained on approach, greens in regulation percentage, birdie average, scoring average and bogey avoidance. We even cut that list short, but you get the picture.

As for Scott, teaming up with Scheffler after splitting with Bubba Watson in 2021 is turning out to be the best decision he's made in his career. The veteran looper is on his way to a multimillion-dollar season with the best player in the world.
