Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan playable characters in 'PGA Tour 2K23' video game

Golf fans will soon be able to play as a pair of living legends in the virtual world.

Per Tom VanHaaren of ESPN, 2K announced on Monday that the "PGA Tour 2K23" video game will be released on Oct. 14 and will include both Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan. Woods is on the cover of the title and also served as an executive director who advised in the creation of the game:

"It's not only great to be back on the cover of a video game, but the executive director role makes this a truly unique opportunity," Woods said for a released statement. "2K is the perfect partner for me and I am excited to continue impacting the game and culture of golf beyond my play on the PGA TOUR."

Users can play as or against Woods and Jordan among other recognizable names such as PGA Tour stars Justin Thomas and Collin Morikawa. LPGA Tour players Lexi Thompson, Lydia Ko and Brooke Henderson also made the "PGA Tour 2K23" roster.

According to Cameron Jourdan of Golfweek, "PGA Tour 2K23" will also include 20 licensed courses at the title's launch. Those who wish to splash some extra cash on the "Tiger Woods Edition" can buy special gear and clothes that mimic items typically used and worn by Woods on actual courses.

Jourdan added that the game's standard edition is $69.99. The deluxe edition is priced at $99.99, while the "Tiger Woods Edition" is $119.99. The title will be available on the Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Steam.
