Golf living legend Tiger Woods has largely remained silent while recovering from the serious injuries he suffered in a one-vehicle crash on Feb. 23.
As ESPN's Bob Harig wrote, the 45-year-old sports icon shared the first picture of himself since the crash on Instagram taken from his backyard practice area in Jupiter, Florida, on Friday:
Woods is seen on crutches with his right leg and foot supported by a cast as he's standing next to his dog. On March 16, he announced he had returned home from Los Angeles following his hospitalization.
Shortly after the crash, surgeons placed a rod in Woods' tibia and inserted screws and pins into his foot and ankle to stabilize open fractures and injuries. It's unknown when he will attempt to return playing competitively.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office said earlier this month Woods was traveling more than 80 mph shortly before the wreck and that he hit a tree at 75 mph. His injuries were compared to the career- and life-threatening injuries former Washington Football Team quarterback Alex Smith suffered back in 2018.
Woods was not cited following the incident.
