LIV Golf will move ahead with LIV Golf Las Vegas this week. But before this Tyrrell Hatton has shared a comical incident with his new teammate Caleb Surratt.

At 20 years old, golfer Caleb Surratt is one of the youngest players on the field. Despite his age, he showed off great resilience during his professional debut. However he was a little too young to check into his Las Vegas hotel room by himself.

This is when Tyrrell Hatton showed up. The English golfer simply handed over his driver’s license so that Surratt could have a bed for the night and helped him check in the hotel room. Had Hatton not stepped in, Surratt could have ended a long night.

This development gives the hint that Surratt and Hatton are both getting close as teammates. They are both playing for Legion XIII which is captained by Jon Rahm. In such a short-time, these golfers have started to gel together, giving off positives vibes from their locker room.

Quick Recap of LIV Golf Mayakoba 2024 event

The recently concluded LIV Golf Mayakoba tournament (February 24-26, 2024) brought its share of thrilling plays. The tone was set by the remarkable play of the Chilean golfer Joaquin Niemann, who stole the show in the first round, carding a bogey-free 59, the first ever recorded on the LIV Golf tour and only the fourth in professional golf history.

Despite Niemann’s individual brilliance, it was Team Legion XIII led by Jon Rahm that ultimately emerged victorious in the team event. They took home the $3M prize in their debut as a team.

Speaking about debuts, all members of the new team showed off great composure. While Rahm started off strong and finished in the third position, his teammates were equally amazing as well. Hatton finished on T8 while Surratt finished T13. The team finished overall finished on 24-under par, giving them team title.

The absence of OWGR points for LIV Golf players remained the most discussed issue though. While some praised the financial opportunities and innovative format, questions were once again raised on the impact on player rankings and future major championship eligibility.

The second LIV Golf event for 2024 will be the LIV Golf Las Vegas taking place from February 8th to 10th, 2024. Will Jon Rahm continue his impressive start or some other golfer come up out of nowhere and dominate the proceedings like Joaquin Neimann? Only time will answer that question.
