Watch: Dustin Johnson sinks eagle putt to win LIV Golf event in Boston
Dustin Johnson earned his first career LIV Golf victory in dramatic fashion on Sunday afternoon.
Johnson finished the tournament tied with Anirban Lahiri and Joaquin Neimann forcing a three-way playoff to decide a winner. With ice water in his veins, Johnson sunk a 35-foot eagle putt on the first playoff hole to win the LIV Golf Invitational in Boston.
"Yeah it was going a little fast, but it was a good line," Johnson said, describing the speed of his eagle putt. "I felt like I played really well all week, I felt like I got some unlucky breaks here the first time around. It owed me one, and I got it."
With the victory, Johnson takes home a purse of $4M . His LIV Golf team, the 4 Aces, including Johnson, Talor Gooch, Pat Perez, and Patrick Reed, took home the team title earning each player $750K.
The inaugural LIV Golf season continues Sept. 16-18 in Chicago.
