Watch: Tiger Woods birdies first hole at 2024 Masters

Tiger Woods looked good on his first hole at the 2024 Masters.

The 15-time major champion birdied the par-4, 445-yard hol — a much better start than the one he had last year.

In 2023, Woods had three bogeys in his first seven holes and didn't record his first birdie until the par-5 No. 8. He barely made the cut at 3-over-par, but was forced to withdraw at the start of the third round after reaggravating his foot injury.

Woods last appeared at a PGA Tour event in February at The Genesis Invitational. Like on the opening hole of this year's Masters, he birdied his first hole at that event. But he ended the first round at 2-over-par, then withdrew after six holes in Round 2 due to injury.

Since his most recent Masters win in 2019, Woods has only appeared in 27 PGA Tour events.

Despite his struggles off the golf course, Woods has always managed to put things together enough at the Masters.

As Golf.com noted on Tuesday, he'll set a course record for most consecutive made cuts (24) if he advances to the weekend. Woods is currently tied with Fred Couples (1983-2007) and Gary Player (1959-1982).

If his opening birdie is any indication, Woods will soon have the record all to himself.
