After shooting scores of 68 and 64 in the opening two rounds, Joaquin Niemann took charge on the final day of LIV Golf Mexico. The Chilean golfer carded a score of 6-under 65 on Sunday at the Club de Golf Chapultepec to win LIV Golf Mexico City and tied Brooks Koepka‘s record.
Niemann was one of the 12 golfers from LIV who recently took part in the 2025 Masters Tournament. In the first major championship, the Torque GC Captain finished T29 with an even par score for the tournament.
The LIV Golf Mexico City event was his first start since this performance at the Augusta National Golf Club. After the first two rounds, he found himself battling for his 3rd win on the LIV Golf tour this year with Bryson DeChambeau and Cameron Smith.
While DeChambeau and Smith both struggled a bit in the final round, Niemann remained calm and composed. His scores of 68, 64, and 65 saw him end the tournament with a score of 16-under par, 3 shots ahead of runner-ups Lucas Herbert and Bryson DeChambeau.
This win turned out to be Niemann’s 5th LIV Golf title. He thus tied Koepka for the most wins on the LIV Golf circuit at 5.
Joaquin Niemann has joined Brooks Koepka as the two greatest winners in the history of LIV Golf with 5 career wins.

This guy is very very good
Before the start of the 2025 season, Brooks Koepka was the golfer with the most wins on LIV Golf. He won once in 2022 and twice in both 2023 and 2024. With three wins this season, Joaquin Niemann has now tied Koepka for the most wins on the 54-hole tour.
While speaking with the media regarding this, the 26-year-old expressed that it was ‘special’ to be on top alongside the 5-time major champion.
I mean, it’s special to be up there with Brooks as most wins. I mean, it’s just been three years since I joined here on LIV, and I feel like it’s a special place right now for me to be here and I can become the most winner on the league.

Apart from his wins in the Adelaide and Singapore events, Niemann has finished T12 in the Hong Kong event and T33 in the Riyadh and Miami event. His performances have put him on top of the LIV Golf individual standings as well.
The year 2025 marked the first time a major championship had opened pathways for LIV Golfers to qualify for them. With his win at LIV Golf Mexico City, Joaquin Niemann has qualified for the 2025 U.S. Open.
The golfer is ranked at the top of the LIV Golf individual standings. The top-ranked golfer was supposed to receive a direct entry into the U.S. Open this year if they did not have any previous exemptions. Niemann, who does not have an exemption, thus qualified for this major tournament at Oakmont in June this year.
