LIV Golf indeed plan to make significant changes to their schedule for 2027 as the league looks to secure investment beyond this season.

The future of LIV Golf remains in some doubt, with the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia deciding to withdraw their financial support for the league after this year.

There have been times where it has appeared that LIV may be in danger of imminent collapse. Rumours on social media suggested that their event in Mexico City after The Masters may not even take place.

Meanwhile, it was a worrying sign that their New Orleans event has been postponed.

The schedule LIV are looking to put together for 2027

However, LIV are fighting for their future. And according to CNBC, LIV is seeking up to $350 million in financial support when they speak to potential investors later this week.

Meanwhile, LIV have outlined plans for a 10-event schedule in 2027. Those events will take place across the world.

By comparison, their 2026 season was scheduled to include 14 events, including The Team Championship to conclude the year.

It does appear that the writing is not yet on the wall for LIV. Obviously, the days of paying nine-figure sums to lure PGA Tour stars away are long gone now.

What LIV players are doing as the league look for fresh investment

There is some good news for LIV, with Today’s Golfer reporting that their players have spoken to the new board about potential investors who could be interested in getting involved.

Clearly, there are a number of players on LIV who are very happy with their decision to make the move from either the PGA Tour or the DP World Tour. And they will be aware that they could have one or two headaches if they attempt to return to those tours in the future.

The problem LIV faces concerns generating enough interest when they were already struggling as they threw absolutely everything at it previously.

Perhaps a more modest LIV may lead to greater results in the long run.
