Racehorse that ran down highway injured in barn fire

If you think you had a crazy weekend, you should get a load of Bold and Bossy.

The two-year-old horse that made headlines over the weekend for escaping a Kentucky race track and running down the highway over the weekend was also reportedly injured in a barn fire the following day.

According to the Associated Press, Bold and Bossy was prepping to race at the Ellis Park Racing & Gaming in Henderson, Kent., on Saturday when she bucked her rider and took off galloping out of the track and onto the highway.

Per the report, the young filly was chased for half an hour before being apprehended. She had to be taken to the hospital and given fluids after the chase left her dehydrated.

The plan was to give Bold and Bossy time to recuperate before her next race. Unfortunately, the barn she was staying at caught fire early Sunday morning. Per the Lexington Herald Leader, Bold and Bossy was the only horse to sustain injuries from the fire. She is currently being treated at a Lexington hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

The barn completely burned down.
