Los Angeles Dodgers Opening Day has brought about new Dodger Stadium food, an LED lighting system that has the capability to display color-changing features, and the night will see Vin Scully honored along with franchise legends throwing out the ceremonial first pitch.

Dodgers Opening Day historically has been an afternoon start, as 2023 marks just the fifth time in the past 47 years the team is playing a season opener under the lights at home. Other recent Opening Night games at Dodger Stadium were played in 1995, 2011 and 2020.

The Dodgers started the 2022 season on the road because of canceled games due to the MLB lockout, but their home opener was at night as well.
