Tayler Scott was among the players with Major League experience who joined the Los Angeles Dodgers on a Minor League contract for the 2023 season. The right-hander began the year with Triple-A Oklahoma City and posted a 1.37 ERA in 19 games before he was called up to the Dodgers roster.

Scott joined the team on May 22 when Clayton Kershaw was placed on the bereavement list. scott remained with the Dodgers for just three days, getting sent back to Oklahoma City when Kershaw returned.

Scott rejoined the Dodgers a week later as a corresponding move to Phil Bickford being put on the 15-day injured list. That marked the start of being shuffled on and off the roster with plenty of regularity.

The Dodgers optioned Scott on June 6, only to recall him two days later when Noah Syndergaard landed on the 15-day IL.

After making six appearances, Scott was designated for assignment on June 17 as the corresponding move to make room on the 40-man and active rosters for the Dodgers calling up Bryan Hudson from OKC.

The Dodgers later traded Scott to the Boston Red Sox for cash considerations after he was claimed off waivers. The 31-year-old appeared in four games with the Red Sox before he was once again designated for assignment.

Scott then was claimed off waivers by the Oakland Athletics on July 19 and he remained with the organization for the rest of the 2023 season.

In 18 appearances between the Dodgers, Red Sox and Athletics, Scott posted a 5.60 ERA, 5.75 FIP and 1.87 WHIP over 17.2 innings pitched with 17 strikeouts against 10 walks.
