Following the New York Yankees‘ 2-1 walk-off win over the Texas Rangers in game one of Sunday’s doubleheader, Rangers manager Chris Woodward had some controversial comments about the way the game ended.

The game of course ended with Gleyber Torres hitting a walk-off home run to right field over the short porch.

Woodward then called Yankee Stadium a “little league” ballpark and said that in 99% of ballparks across the league, that would’ve been an “easy out.”

After Woodward made his comments, Yankees manager Aaron Boone responded and had a nice little mic drop moment to put Woodward back in his place.

“His math is wrong,” said Boone. “99% is impossible. There’s only 30 parks.”

Boom, Roasted

Boone kept it nice and simple with his comeback.

But he still had a solid one.

Woodward’s claims were quite bold to say the least, but Boone knew just what to do to put the Rangers’ manager right back in his place, correctly pointing out that Woodward’s “math” was incorrect and that there are in fact only 30 major league ballparks.

At least Woodward tried, right?

His claim just wasn’t enough to handle the savagery of Boone’s response.

But it’s nice to see a little mic drop moment in sports, especially baseball.

Again though, Woodward tried to make his point.

Boone just had a better response to shut down Woodward and used proper math to finish the job.

The two squads wrap up their series today.

We’ll see if there are any more short home runs and if Yankee Stadium gets called a “little league” ballpark again.
