Aaron Judge's future home run balls could fetch over a million dollars

New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge is on a collision course with baseball history.

Entering play Wednesday night, Judge sat at 60 home runs for the season, just one away from tying Yankees legend Roger Maris for the American League single-season record.

If Judge is to tie and possibly break the record before the end of the season, the balls he hits into the stands will reportedly fetch a hefty payday for two lucky fans.

Speaking with The Athletic this week, the founder of Goldin Auctions, Ken Goldin, laid out what Judge's next two home run balls may be worth to a big-time collector.

According to Goldin, No. 61, which would tie Maris' record, should sell for $250,000 to $350,000. Goldin added that the record-breaking long-ball, No. 62, could have a price tag from $750,000 to $1.25 million.

The future will also play a big part in determining what Judge's home run balls are worth. If Judge and the Yankees were to win the World Series this October, Goldin says that could change the price dramatically.

"It is an incredibly hot market right now," Goldin said. "One thing that's going to be very important to increase the value is if he caps it off with a world championship. This is what everyone's going to remember: Aaron Judge carries the Yankees to their first championship in 13 years."

On Tuesday, 20-year-old City College of New York student Michael Kessler caught fans' ire after catching Judge's No. 60 home run ball and returning it in exchange for a meet-and-greet and signed equipment.

Judge's future home runs are bound to cause even more pandemonium.
