With the 2023 season nearly upon us, the end of Adam Wainwright’s legendary career draws closer.

With Albert Pujols and Yadier Molina retired, Wainwright returned for one final season.

In the latter stages of his career, Wainwright has made sure to stay active after making starts.

And so, the veteran right-hander and two-time World Series champion takes walks around stadiums on days after starts, taking in all the sights and sounds.

The 41-year-old calls these his “Day After Pitching Old Man Walks.”

On Twitter, the St. Louis Cardinals posted a compilation video of some of Wainwright’s best “Old Man Walks” from the 2022 season.

With just one season left in his legendary career, the three-time All-Star is making sure to absorb every bit of the baseball world he comes across, hence the reason for his walks.

But Wainwright enjoys interacting with Cardinals fans and enjoys taking in the sights and sounds of each ballpark he pitches in.

Baseball is a game that offers so much insight and knowledge, much of which Wainwright has soaked up over the years.

Aside from his competitive spirit and signature curveball, Wainwright truly is a man of the people and enjoys the little things in life and in baseball.

When he takes his “Old Man Walks”, Wainwright always posts on Twitter, taking pictures and taking note of everything each ballpark has to offer.

For instance, you can’t ignore the ivy at Wrigley Field, nor can you ignore the Green Monster at Fenway Park.

Wainwright makes sure to enjoy it all and share it with his biggest fans.
