On what was a historic day around baseball on Tuesday, the San Francisco Giants outlasted the Cincinnati Reds, 11-10, to run their winning streak to seven games.

The win was fueled by versatile infielder Wilmer Flores, who went 2-for-3 with two home runs, three runs scored and five RBI. The 31-year-old is now hitting .292 this season with 11 homers and 30 RBI. Lifetime, he's a .263 hitter who was smashed 137 homers.

He's in his 11th season in the big leagues with the Mets, Diamondbacks and Giants.

With the big offensive output, Flores also joined Barry Bonds in some prestigious franchise company.

Per Sarah Langs of MLB.com:

Wilmer Flores is the first Giants player with 8+ total bases in back-to-back games since Barry Bonds on April 2-3, 2002

Bonds is one of the most prolific hitters in baseball history, so any time that you are able to be linked with him in a statistical record, you've done something right.

Bonds won the MVP in 2002 for the Giants and ended up hitting 46 homers with 110 RBI. He also won the batting title (.370), the on-base percentage title (.582) and led the league in OPS (1.381). He won the MVP that year, one of his seven.

The Giants now are 54-41 on the season and have moved into second place in the National League West. They also currently own the top spot in the National League wild card picture. They've won eight of their last 10 games.
