Longtime Angels star and current Angels special assistant Albert Pujols was honored by some team staff members for one of his many generous acts.

Over the pandemic, Pujols covered the salaries of some of the Angels' Dominican Republic staffers. This move was obviously extremely generous, and this week, those staffers finally got to say thank you and honor him.

Britt Ghiroli of The Athletic reports that those staffers honored Pujols this week with an in-person ceremony and a plaque. Those are all the known details right now about the honor.

Pujols was in what would be his second-to-last season with the Angels in 2020, and went out of his way to help support some of the staffers who were struggling during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This gesture shows the kind of selfless person he is, and it's nice that he was honored by those staffers this week for this incredibly generous move.

Pujols is currently working as a special assistant for the Angels, and is helping the team out in a variety of ways. You can read more about what Pujols will be doing with the Halos for the next decade here.
