After a historic offseason by the Los Angeles Dodgers and president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman, a former All-Star slugger believes L.A.s president should be honored in a big way.

Talking Baseball asked their followers via Instagram, "Who should be on the cover of MLB The Show 24?," and All-Star free agent Evan Longoria nominated Friedman.

Friedman and the Dodgers had a dominant offseason, acquiring the best player in the league in Shohei Ohtani. On top of that, they traded for right-handed ace Tyler Glasnow and signed the second-best player in this year's free agent class, Japanese ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Because of these major moves — and a few marginal upgrades — Longoria believes Friedman is the best man for the cover.

Obviously, this isn't going to happen, but he certainly is worthy. Longoria is familiar with Friedman as he was a member of the Tampa Bay Rays when Friedman was with the organization.

Longoria was drafted third overall in the 2006 MLB Draft by the Rays, Friedman's first year as general manager. Both of these guys led the Rays to new heights, which is a big reason the Dodgers decided to pursue and ultimately hire Friedman after the 2014 season.

Longoria knows baseball better than most, and understands why Dodger fans are fortunate to have Friedman on their side.

MLB The Show 24 is set to come out in March 2024. Maybe Friedman has done enough to be the face of the video game for next season.
