The Los Angeles Angels have seen better days, as they're 3-7 over their last 10 games and are last place in the AL West. However, they're only 3.5 games behind the first-place Seattle Mariners with 135 contests left.

Contact hitting has been an issue for the Angels (12-15), as they're 29th in baseball with a .212 team batting average. Catcher Logan O'Hoppe leads the club at just .256, and superstar Mike Trout is hitting .170. However, the latter player is tied for second in MLB with nine homers.

Los Angeles announced a couple of roster moves on Tuesday that could shake up the lineup, via Angels PR.

"Angels transactions:

•Recalled OF Gustavo Campero from Triple-A Salt Lake

•Designated INF J.D. Davis for assignment.

Yesterday, RHP Carl Edwards Jr. was outrighted to Triple-A Salt Lake," the team announced.

Davis spent two years with the Houston Astros, four with the New York Mets, and two with the San Francisco Giants before playing for the Athletics and the New York Yankees in 2024. The veteran then signed with the Angels in 2025, but has played just five games thus far.

Davis had a career year for the Mets in 2019, slashing .307/.369/.527 with 22 homers and 57 RBI in 140 games.

Meanwhile, Campero played 13 games for Los Angeles last season, going 11-for-46 with one homer and six RBI. The 27-year-old is slashing .294/.389/.486 with 36 homers and 156 RBI across 318 career minor-league contests.

The Angels start a two-game road series vs. the Mariners (16-12) on Tuesday.
