The Los Angeles Angels placed right-hander Ryan Tepera on the 15-day injured list Sunday with inflammation in his pitching shoulder.

Tepera, 35, is 1-1 with an 11.25 ERA in six relief appearances this season.

He blew a save opportunity and took the loss in Saturday's 9-7 setback in Boston, allowing three runs (one earned) and recording only two outs in the eighth inning.

The Angels recalled right-hander Andrew Wantz from Triple-A Salt Lake in a corresponding transaction.

Wantz, 27, pitched in three games out of the Angels' bullpen earlier this month and allowed one unearned run and one hit in five innings, striking out six.
