The Arizona Diamondbacks, who barely made the playoffs this year, are looking to do the unthinkable on Wednesday night: Sweep the mighty Los Angeles Dodgers.

Arizona is 4-0 this postseason after sweeping the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Wild Card Series and taking the first two from the Dodgers.

Part of the reason that the D'Backs have been able to navigate the postseason so well is because of rookie sensation Corbin Carroll, who is making baseball history in these playoffs.

Per @OptaSTATS on social media:

Corbin Carroll in 4 postseason games for the @Dbacks

7 hits, 6 runs, 5 walks, 4 RBI, 4 team wins, 3 XBH, 2 HR

Only one other player in MLB history has reached all of those numbers over any 4-game span in the postseason: Lou Gehrig (1928-32).

Carroll, who is the leader in the clubhouse for National League Rookie of the Year, is already one of the most dynamic players in baseball.

He hit .285 this season with 25 home runs and 76 RBI. He also stole 54 bases, posted an on-base percentage of .362 and was named to his first All-Star Game. He is the unquestioned tablesetter for the D'Backs offense and pairs with Christian Walker and Ketel Marte to create a very formidable trio.

The Diamondbacks and Dodgers will play Game 3 of the NLDS on Wednesday night. First pitch from Chase Field in Phoenix is set for 9:07 p.m. ET.

Veteran right-hander Lance Lynn (LAD) pitches against rookie Brandon Pfaadt (ARI).

Lynn has yet to pitch this postseason while Pfaadt has an ERA of 10.13.
