Dylan Tapley was one of the highlights of the 2024 class so far for Brian Ward and Arizona State.  A Linebacker from Scottsdale, Tapley was a top LB in the state and rated 3-star.

Tapley announced on X that he would be decommitting from Arizona State. Tapley reasoned that he wanted to continue playing on the offensive side of the ball for his future. Tapley will transition to a Wide Receiver and make that his primary position. Tapley caught over 1000 yards last season for Desert Mountain. He paired that with 17 touchdowns.

It is unknown where Tapley will commit, but 247 Sports has him locked in to become an Arizona Wildcat. This would be quite a blow to Arizona State, considering they will continue to be their rivals in the future. So far, ASU’s only linebacker committed in this class is Albert Smith from Louisiana.
