Astros' sign-stealing docuseries reason for Alex Bregman leaving agency?

Alex Bregman, now one of Major League Baseball's most hated players, will be looking for new representation in the coming months and a pending documentary series about the Houston Astros' illegal sign-stealing scandal reportedly played a large role in Bregman parting ways with his agent Brodie Scoffield of Klutch Sports, according to The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal.

LeBron James, whose media platform Uninterrupted will be producing the docuseries, also is represented by Klutch Sports, leaving Bregman feeling betrayed by the Los Angeles Lakers star and the agency.

While the Astros third baseman's apology for his involvement in the scandal seemed less than adequate, he identified the situation as "the darkest moment of his career," sources told Rosenthal.

Bregman also had other reasons for leaving Scoffield and Klutch Sports, Rosenthal said, including his dissatisfaction with his agent's guidance during the Astros' scandal and the odd structure of his current contract with Houston.

The Astros' docuseries still doesn't have a release date, but Uninterrupted will collaborate with Quibi on the project titled "Sign Language," which will explore much larger themes of cheating and corruption within the organization, the press release stated.
