Athletics' win streak ends at 13 games with loss to Orioles
The Oakland Athletics' win streak ended at 13 games on Sunday.
The A's had put together Major League Baseball's longest winning streak since 2017 and hadn't suffered a defeat since April 8 before Sunday's 8-1 loss to the Baltimore Orioles.
A's lefty Jesus Luzardo was on the mound for Sunday's loss. He allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks over 6 2/3 innings while striking out eight. The defeat dropped his record to 1-2 on the season.
Orioles pitcher John Means, meanwhile, improved to 2-0 on the season after giving up one run on two hits and three walks over 6 1/3 innings while striking out six.
Oakland's only run of the game came on a Ramon Laureano home run in the second inning.
During Oakland's 13-game winning streak, The A's outscored opponents 81-36, sweeping three series in that span.
The A's remain on top of the AL West standings with a 14-8 record despite the loss. They'll look to get back on track Monday against the Tampa Bay Rays.
