Bartolo Colon has a biography coming out, and the beloved ballplayer known as “Big Sexy” had some fun announcing the book’s upcoming release by doing so on a treadmill.

Colon failed to catch on with an MLB team in 2019, so odds are his remarkable 21-year career has come to an end, making the timing of the biography quite fitting.

The now-46-year-old pitcher used his famous moniker as inspiration for the title of his biography, “Big Sexy: The Life and Times of Bartolo Colón,” and the Cy Young Award winner can be seen holding an advanced copy of it while strolling on the treadmill.

The book is described as follows by the publisher.

“From picking coffee in the Dominican Republic to reaching icon status as a Major League pitcher in America, here is the story of baseball’s most colorful player told in his own words.

Bartolo Colón — also known as Big Sexy — is a baseball icon and one of the most beloved players to ever play the game. In a career spanning 21 years, Colón has won the Cy Young Award and won more games than any other Latin American–born pitcher. But more importantly, throughout his career, Big Sexy has captured the hearts of fans of the game as well as the stars he has played against. Colón plays the game the way it was meant to be.

In Big Sexy: The Life and Times of Bartolo Colón, he opens up as never before. The result is a touching and deeply personal story of a truly unique baseball life.”

While Colon became something of a whimsical and cult-like figure in the latter stages of his career thanks to his portly frame and entertaining appearances in the batter’s box — which he admitted he took personally — the veteran actually was a dedicated workout warrior in the offseason.

Given the treadmill video, it looks like Colon is still trucking along after all these years.
