Biggest rebounds of the 2017 MLB season

While the MLB season has just two full months in the books, the biggest rebound years of 2017 are already clear. The following features the 25 best rebounds thus far.

1 of 25

Trevor Cahill, SP, Padres

Jake Roth / USA Today Sports Images

While he's currently on the DL with a shoulder injury, Cahill looked terrific before getting injured. The former All-Star in Oakland returned to the rotation with San Diego this season and has a 3.27 ERA in seven starts with more than 11 strikeouts per nine innings.

2 of 25

Alex Cobb, SP, Rays

Bruce Kluckhohn / USA Today Sports Images

Returning from Tommy John surgery, Cobb has looked much better than he did last season, though he was roughed up in his last start. He has a 4.52 ERA in 12 starts for the Rays.

3 of 25

Michael Conforto, OF, Mets

Noah K. Murray / USA Today Sports Images

Conforto went through a sophomore slump but has put those struggles well behind him. He's already set a career high with 14 home runs and is an MVP candidate with an OPS above 1.000.

4 of 25

Jacob deGrom, SP, Mets

Noah K. Murray / USA Today Sports Images

Jacob deGrom struggled through injuries last season but has been one of New York's only reliable starters this year. He has a 4.75 ERA in 12 starts after getting hit badly in his last start but has nearly 12 strikeouts per nine innings.

5 of 25

Corey Dickerson, DH, Rays

Kim Klement / USA Today Sports Images

Dickerson struggled after getting out of Coors Field last season but is well on his way to a career year. He's near the AL lead with a .333 batting average, and his 77 hits and 18 doubles lead the AL. He also has 13 home runs through 56 games.

6 of 25

Lucas Duda, 1B, Mets

Charles LeClaire / USA Today Sports Images

Duda has spent some time on the DL this year, but he's looked like his old self when on the field. He's hitting .274-10-22 in only 124 at-bats with an OPS near 1.000.

7 of 25

Jaime Garcia, SP, Braves

Kelvin Kuo / USA Today Sports Images

Garcia struggled with the Cardinals last season but has benefited from a change of scenery. He has a 3.21 ERA through 11 starts for Atlanta.

8 of 25

Dee Gordon, 2B, Marlins

Jasen Vinlove / USA Today Sports Images

Gordon missed nearly half of last season due to a PEDs suspension but has put that behind him. He's hitting .276 with 18 steals in 20 attempts for the Marlins.

9 of 25

Zack Greinke, SP, Diamondbacks

Steve Mitchell / USA Today Sports Images

Greinke had an awful first year in Arizona but has turned his performance around this year. The right-hander has seven wins and a 3.06 ERA through 12 starts.

10 of 25

Bryce Harper, OF, Nationals

Brad Mills / USA Today Sports Images

Harper was awful during the second half of last season while fighting through shoulder trouble, but it's safe to say that he's healthy this year. He's hitting .322-15-45 through 50 games for the Nats.

11 of 25

Jason Heyward, OF, Cubs

Jake Roth / USA Today Sports Images

Heyward reworked his swing in the offseason after hitting only .230-7-49 last season. His numbers haven't rebounded fully, but he is hitting .264-5-25 through 44 games this season.

12 of 25

Derek Holland, SP, White Sox

Denny Medley / USA Today Sports Images

Chicago took a flier on Holland after a few injury-plagued seasons in Texas. The risk is paying off, as Holland has a 3.43 ERA in 11 starts.

13 of 25

Greg Holland, RP, Rockies

Isaiah J. Downing / USA Today Sports Images

Holland signed a contract with Colorado shortly before the season after missing all of last season due to Tommy John surgery. He's been quite a find for Colorado, leading the league in saves along with holding a 1.25 ERA.

14 of 25

Matt Holliday, DH, Yankees

Adam Hunger / USA Today Sports Images

After struggling to stay healthy over the last two seasons in St. Louis, a move to DH has been profitable for Holliday. He's hitting .271-12-37 in only 52 games.

15 of 25

Dallas Keuchel, SP, Astros

Steve Mitchell / USA Today Sports Images

The 2015 AL Cy Young had a 4.55 ERA last season and was shut down late in the year with shoulder woes. He's back this year, starting the season 9-0 through 11 starts with a 1.67 ERA.

16 of 25

Mike Leake, SP, Cardinals

Kirby Lee / USA Today Sports Images

Leake had a 4.69 ERA in his first season with the Cardinals but did show improved control. The control has held this season, and the results have been much better with a 2.64 ERA.

17 of 25

Lance Lynn, SP, Cardinals

Gary A. Vasquez / USA Today Sports Images

Returning from Tommy John surgery and entering a walk year, Lynn has delivered early in the season. He has a 2.97 ERA through 11 starts for the Cardinals.

18 of 25

Wade Miley, SP, Orioles

Patrick McDermott / USA Today Sports Images

Miley finished last season with a 5.37 ERA and was particularly bad after getting traded to Baltimore late in the year. His fortunes have turned around this season with a 2.82 ERA through 11 starts.

19 of 25

Logan Morrison, 1B, Rays

Tim Heitman / USA Today Sports Images

A former top prospect for the Marlins early in his career, Morrison hit 23 home runs in his second season as a big leaguer. His results have been inconsistent since then, but Morrison is rebounding this year with 16 home runs and a career-best .876 OPS through 56 games.

20 of 25

Jimmy Nelson, SP, Brewers

Benny Sieu / USA Today Sports Images

After posting a 4.11 ERA in 2015, Nelson's ERA ballooned to 4.62 with 16 losses last year. He's become Milwaukee's ace in 2017 with a 3.36 ERA through 11 starts and much-improved control.

21 of 25

David Peralta, OF, Diamondbacks

Joe Camporeale / USA Today Sports Images

Injuries allowed Peralta to play only 48 games last season and hit a career-worst .251. He's back this year, hitting .299-4-12 through 51 games for the Diamondbacks.

22 of 25

A.J. Pollock, CF, Diamondbacks

Mark J. Rebilas / USA Today Sports Images

A freak elbow injured caused Pollock to miss most of last season. He's rebounded for Arizona this year, hitting .299-2-11 with 11 stolen bases in 37 games.

23 of 25

Luis Severino, SP, Yankees

Adam Hunger / USA Today Sports Images

Severino had immediate success upon his promotion 2015 but was terrible last year for the Yankees, posting a 5.83 ERA in 71 innings. After getting back in the groove as a reliever late last year, Severino has a 2.90 ERA in 11 starts for the Yanks this year.

24 of 25

Jason Vargas, SP, Royals

Jay Biggerstaff / USA Today Sports Images

Vargas has pitched beyond his wildest dreams for the Royals this year, going 7-3 with a 2.08 ERA in 11 starts. He returned from Tommy John surgery late last season.

Ryan Zimmerman, 1B, Nationals

Kelley L. Cox / USA Today Sports Images
