The Blue Jays have re-signed right-hander Casey Lawrence to a minor-league deal for 2023, per the MLB minor-league transactions page.

Lawrence, 35, pitched 18 innings for the Blue Jays a year ago, largely eating innings in doubleheaders as he finished with a 7.50 ERA and 11.5 H/9. Before his appearances in 2022, Lawrence last pitched in the majors in 2018.

The righty will likely assume a similar role with Toronto in 2023. He'll most certainly start the year in Triple-A Buffalo, and if the rotation wears thin, he'll be added to the 40-man roster and re-called to the Jays.
