The Los Angeles Dodgers' 2023 season ended abruptly, swept by the division-rival  Arizona Diamondbacks in a five-game National League Division Series. The Dbacks ultimately found themselves in the World Series.

The Dodgers were flat-out outplayed in the NLDS. Starting pitching was a big reason why. Clayton Kershaw, Lance Lynn and rookie Bobby Miller combined to pitch 4.2 innings and allow 13 runs.

There was no silver lining. Even after a month and a half, that feeling hasn't left Miller.

In a recent interview with Spectrum SportsNet LA, Miller spoke about his struggles in the postseason and how he will bounce back for a strong 2024 season.

“Every day I think about it. I think about it everyday, last season. Especially the ending. That’s something I’m never going to forget. You know getting my teeth kicked in, getting swept by a team. That’s something I’m never going to forget. Something I’ll keep in mind going into next season. It’s just going to make me hungrier every start.”

Miller's postseason debut wasn't what he or anyone had hoped after a scorching start to his major league career. In Game 2 against Arizona, Miller threw 52 pitches in 1.2 innings pitched, allowed four hits, two walks, three earned runs, and struck out one batter. His career postseason ERA stands at 16.20.

Miller still has the tools to not only to be the Dodgers' ace, but also to be among the top pitchers in baseball. Clearly, his drive and motivation are there. The Dodgers will be eager to see Miller pick up where he left off in September 2023 and put his lone October start behind him.
