New York Mets starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco, Tuesday's probably starter Kamil Krzaczynski-USA TODAY Sports

Both New York MLB teams are good bets on the parlay on Tue., 8/9

The Mets have won four straight and the Yankees are scoring runs at a high clip. Why not combine the two teams into a parlay? There is little reason not to do so. Even better, we're going to use the alternate lines, which offer even less risk and still get better than even odds.

Let's start with the Mets. Along with those four consecutive wins, they have covered the -1.5 runline each time. However, instead of taking the Mets at -1.5, we're going to take them at -1. That way if the Mets only win by one, the best washes out as as even. If they do win by two or more runs, the leg hits.

Cincinnati's Mike Minor has definitely pitched better as of late, but he's still 1-8 with a 6.19 ERA this season. The Reds are winless in Minor's last eight starts. That string of misfortune makes him extremely vulnerable against a team like the Mets.

On the other end, starter Carlos Carrasco has been great for the Mets. Carrasco is 4-0 with a with a 1.50 ERA since July and the Mets are 6-0 in his last six starts.  But don't let the Mets starting staff take all the credit. New York has scored at least five runs in each of their last seven games and are 13-2 over their last 15. With the Mets playing great, and the Reds just waiting for the season to end, now's the time to take advantage and jump on New York.

As for the Yankees, they might not be playing nearly as well as they were in the beginning of the year, but they're still scoring runs consistently. The Yankees are 5-2 against the over this month, and have scored at least six runs in four of them. That's why betting the over of 5.5 runs between New York and Seattle is a no-brainer.

I know Gerrit Cole is great, but it is unlikely he'll shut out the Mariners. The same goes for Seattle's starter, Luis Castillo. Castillo gave up three runs on Wednesday in New York, and offenses tend to get better the more times they face a pitcher. That makes this leg even more likely to hit.

The Yankees still lead the Majors in runs scored and their final score has gone over six in every game except one so far this month for Seattle. That further adds to the possibility of this leg of the parlay hitting--maybe more so, than the Mets' bet to beat the Reds on Tuesday. And with +111 odds, this is as low-risk, high-reward as it gets.

The Bet: NYM -1 AND NYY/SEA > 5.5 Runs (+111 odds via DraftKings)
