The Braves announced they have reinstated Ehire Adrianza from the Injured List following his rehab assignment and designated him for assignment.

Adrianza was a part of the Braves 2021 World Series run, coming up with a couple of critical hits. He only appeared in five games this season for the Braves, missing most of the year with injury. Earlier this month, the Braves announced he would begin his rehab assignment, but with the season coming to an end, they had to make a decision, ultimately choosing to designate him for assignment.

With Nicky Lopez in the fold since the trade deadline, there’s not much use for Adrianza on the roster anymore. Most of Adrianza’s value stems from his ability to play all over the diamond, which Lopez does more effectively. Vaughn Grissom can also step in if injuries arise; he offers much more offensively than Adrianza.
