Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

Yesterday, I went through the winners of Braves Spring Training through two weeks. Today, it’s about the losers.

Ozzie Albies

Albies will be on the roster regardless as the starting second baseman. However, he’s struggling early in Spring Training, recording just one hit in 12 at-bats. There’s no reason for concern, but hopefully, he shows some signs of life leading up to the start of the season after missing most of last year.

Orlando Arcia

Arcia’s spot on the roster is not in jeopardy either. He will be the team’s primary backup utility infielder, but as far as this Spring goes, he has just one hit in 11 at-bats.

Adeiny Hechavarria

I’m not sure the Braves will keep a sixth infielder, but if they do, that spot is between Adeiny Hechavarria and Ehire Adrianza. While Adrianza has thrived so far this Spring, hitting .385, Hechavarria has not, recording only one hit in nine at-bats.

Eddie Rosario

Braves fans are hoping to see a rejuvenated Eddie Rosario in 2023 after a dismal 2022. However, he only has two hits in 15 at-bats so far this Spring.

Jesse Chavez

The battle for the final spots in the bullpen is going to be a dogfight. There are a ton of high upside arms, and there are also guys like Jesse Chavez, who are valuable strike throwers that can eat innings. Spring Training hasn’t treated the 39-year-old reliever kindly early on, though. He owns an 8.31 ERA over 4.1 innings. The Braves are going to have to see a lot more from him the rest of the way if he wants to make the Opening Day roster.
