Following another Braves win and a Phillies loss to the Marlins, Atlanta's magic number to win their sixth-straight division title has now been trimmed down to six.

That means we are going to be taking a look at the greatest Braves to ever wear No. 6, one of the greatest skippers of all time, Hall of Famer Bobby Cox. Bobby Cox served as a manager of the Braves for 25 years. During that span, he managed 3,860 games with a 2,149-1709 record. Six out of those 25 years, his team finished the season with over 100 wins (1993, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2002, and 2003).

Cox captured five National League Pennants (1991, 1992, 1995, 1996, and 1999) and a World Series in 1995. Surprisingly enough, the 1995 team had the worst overall record of all five. They finished the year with a 90-54 record. Cox was a three-time Manager of the Year (1991, 2004, and 2005) and he managed five All-Star teams (1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, and 2000).

In 2014, Bobby Cox was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame. A well-deserved honor for one of the best managers ever. It's one thing to have an abundance of talent on your team but it's another to know what to do with all that talent. Look at the Mets this year, the 'best team money could buy' will not even make the playoffs this year and they have imploded. Would it have been nice to win more pennants and World Series while he was there? Sure. Baseball is not that easy though. That's the beauty of the game.
