The San Diego Padres recently made waves by signing veteran catcher Gary Sanchez, a move that resulted in the demotion of 29-year-old catcher Brett Sullivan

During his 21-game stint with the Padres', Sullivan struggled to find his rhythm. The team, recognizing the need for a reliable and consistent bat, made the decision to option him to Triple-A.

Since his demotion, Sullivan has been absolutely tearing it up in the minors. In just a week's time, he has already recorded an impressive seven hits in 16 plate appearances.

Notably, he had a standout performance in a game where he secured three hits, including a double and a triple. Sullivan's overall numbers in Triple-A have been nothing short of incredible, with a slash line of .333/.406/.630 and an outstanding 1.036 OPS.

While Sullivan is shining brightly in the minor leagues, he has been unable to replicate that success in the big leagues. The Padres have been lacking a consistent catcher, and unfortunately, Sullivan hasn't quite lived up to their expectations.

Nonetheless, there is hope that he can sustain his dominance in triple-A and somehow find a way to carry at least a portion of it into the major leagues. It's certainly easier said than done, but the Padres and fans alike will be rooting for him to find his stride and contribute significantly to the team.

If he can find his groove and give at least half of what he's doing in the minors to the big leagues, that'll be good enough for the Friars.
