New in 2023 is a re-vamped schedule that is supposed to provide more balance.

The Brewers 2023 schedule, which is consistent with everyone else’s schedule, includes 13 games apiece against division opponents for a total of 52 divisional games, 64 total games against teams in the same league, and 46 total interleague games.

Despite this balance, a graph has been released showing that the "Brew Crew" is expected to travel the fewest amount of miles when compared against all 30 teams.

In 2023, the Brewers are expected to travel 25,426 total miles. The Tigers have the next fewest expected miles traveled at 26,606.  Leading the way with the most expected miles traveled is the Oakland Athletics at 51,527.

Looking at the Brewers 2023 schedule, they have a 10-game, three-city road trip on the West Coast during the month of April. They play games against the Arizona Diamondbacks, San Diego Padres, and Seattle Mariners. However, because these games are played consecutively and on the same road trip, they save some distance traveled.

Outside of April 2023, the Brewers return to the West Coast briefly in just May and August. Otherwise, the "Brew Crew" managed to get home interleague matchups against the Angels, Red Sox, Astros, Orioles, and Athletics. Having those games at home may have helped limit travel distances.

It will be interesting to see if having the least travel miles of all 30 teams positively impacts the Brewers in 2023 or not. Last year they got slammed with multiple three-city road trips. This year, it appears the schedulers were looking out for them.
