The Milwaukee Brewers activated outfielder Garrett Mitchell from the 60-day injured list on Monday and optioned infielder Tyler Black to Triple-A Nashville.

To make room on the 40-man roster for Mitchell, infielder Owen Miller was designated for assignment.

Mitchell, 25, who missed the first three months of the season with a fractured left index finger, has batted .278 with five home runs and 16 RBIs in 47 games with the Brewers in 2022 and 2023.

Black, 23, had eight hits in 12 games after making his major league debut on April 30. He is a .275 hitter with nine home runs and 41 RBIs in 53 games at Nashville this season.

Miller, 27, had a double among his five hits in 14 games for the Brewers this season. He is a career .239 hitter in 294 career games over the past four seasons with the Cleveland Guardians (2021-22) and Brewers.
