The Braves began the season on the road against the Nationals and Cardinals, where they went 5-1, before heading back to Atlanta to open the season at Truist Park against the Padres. Outside of being opening weekend for the Braves, it’s not a usual series because Brian Snitker will reach a career milestone when he manages the game tonight:
Brian Snitker just signed a contract extension in January that will keep him in town through the 2025 season.
There are plenty of decisions that drive Braves Country crazy, but he’s one of the best managers in the game and was at his best when the lights were brightest. He was flawless during the club’s postseason run in 2021, and without him, Atlanta wouldn’t have raised the Commissioner’s Trophy.
Snit has been a finalist for Manager of the Year three times since 2018, winning it once. The Braves are lucky to have him around for the next few seasons.
