The 6’2″ right hander made his first major league appearance on Tuesday night against the Colorado Rockies and looked flat out impressive.

Jarvis has a plethora of pitches, including a fastball that can get up to 96-mph. He also throws a couple off speed pitches featuring an 85-mph slider.

In Jarvis’ debut he would come into the second inning and throw three innings total. Additionally, in those three innings Jarvis would strikeout three hitters, allow one earned run and one hit.

Bryce Jarvis has been destined for greatness since his Duke days, where he threw the programs first perfect game in 2020. After that, he forced Arizona’s hand to take him with the 18th pick of the 2020 draft. Bryce is just a natural born baseball player.

Bryce’s dad, Kevin Jarvis, was a pro himself. He pitched in the majors for 12 seasons, he also had a stint with Diamondbacks in 2006.

When talking about his nerves in a post-game interview, Jarvis claimed “As soon as I took the rubber it all kind of melted away.” saying that once he settled in, he went back to “doing what I’ve been doing my whole life.”

Diamondback supporters immediately went to social media platforms to show their belief in him after the outing. One follower of the team called Jarvis a “gem” in the Diamondbacks bullpen.

The optimism for the young pitcher is through the roof. Adding a young stud like Bryce Jarvis to the bunch has to give Diamondback fans a warm fuzzy feeling in their belly. I mean come on Zac Gallen, Corbin Carrol, Geraldo Perdomo and now this guy? Just seems like another piece of the puzzle to the future to me.
