Cal Quantrill is one of several starting pitchers with the Cleveland Guardians who is having himself quite a season.

In 21 starts, he’s 8-5 with a 3.88 ERA.

He’s struggled a bit on the road this year, going 2-5 with a 4.96 ERA.

But when he’s pitching at Progressive Field, he’s a completely different animal.

This season, he is 6-0 at home with a 3.16 ERA.

In fact, he has started a total of 28 games at Progressive Field over his three seasons with the Guardians.

In those starts, he has not lost a single time.

StatMuse tweeted that he is 12-0 in those 28 starts over his time with the Guardians.

Sometimes, a certain place allows a certain hitter or pitcher to be completely locked in.

Home Is Where The Wins Are

The confines of Progressive Field seem to allow Quantrill the ability to stay focused and hone his craft.

The fact that he has never lost at home is impressive.

Again, the road stats for this season aren’t great, but his home stats are pretty solid, not just for this year, but for all time.

Here’s a guy who finds comfort in pitching at home and is pretty much unbeatable when he starts a home game.

That’s an impressive stat to be sure.

His last start was against the Houston Astros on Saturday of last week, where he earned yet another win at home, pitching six scoreless innings and allowing just three hits while striking out four Astros hitters.

There are just some places where pitchers can get easily locked in.

Home is where the wins are for Quantrill.

He’s comfortable pitching in front of the fans in Cleveland and enjoys Progressive Field, so much so that he hasn’t even lost a game at home.
